Restorative Yoga at the Domar Center for Mind/Body Health is a completely quiet, effortless form of yoga designed to impact, in subtle yet powerful ways, the mind and body of each client. All postures are practiced lying down, and the body is completely relaxed and supported by props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks to ensure maximum physical comfort.
Restorative yoga is also a synergy of guided meditation and deep relaxation; its stillness helps to relax the body, calm the mind, and quiet the nervous system.
At the Domar Center for Mind/Body Health, we teach yoga that focuses on gentle breath and restorative postures, which can help participants release deep layers of tension. Our instructors make specific modifications for those in physical pain and those undergoing fertility treatments.
These are great forms of exercises during pregnancy. Women will be exposed to safe yoga poses while pregnant from their instructor. For chronic pain/fatigue disorders such as fibromyalgia, restorative yoga can offer an experience of painless practice while substantially improving digestion and sleep.
