Yoga Basics

Restorative Yoga is a completely quiet, effortless form of yoga designed to impact, in subtle yet powerful ways, the mind and body of each client. All postures are practiced lying down, and the body is completely relaxed and supported by props such as bolsters, blankets, and blocks to ensure maximum physical comfort. Restorative yoga is also a synergy of guided meditation and deep relaxation; its stillness helps to relax the body, calm the mind, and quiet the nervous system.

How can restorative yoga help me?

Women’s health issues, particularly those related to the female endocrine and reproductive systems, are closely linked to the brain and the nervous system, and as such are affected by stress. For fertility enhancement, restorative yoga helps to ease the emotional rollercoaster of stress, anxiety, and depression while helping to create an internal environment that is more hormonally balanced and receptive. In addition, studies show that decreasing stress, may increase your chance for a successful pregnancy. These are great forms of exercises during pregnancy. Women will be exposed to safe yoga poses while pregnant from their instructor. For chronic pain/fatigue disorders such as fibromyalgia, restorative yoga can offer an experience of painless practice while substantially improving digestion and sleep.
