Acupuncture
Acupuncture decreases anxiety and depression and other signs of stress
Acupuncture is a healing method that was developed in China at least 2,000 years ago. At the Domar Center, our approach to acupuncture incorporates traditions from China, Korea, and Japan. We use traditional thin, metallic needles and manipulate them by hand to balance energies in the body. Acupuncture is associated with decreasing anxiety and depression, and other physical ailments.
How should I feel during acupuncture?
People experience acupuncture differently, but most feel no or minimal pain. Some people are energized by treatment, while others feel deep relaxation. If you experience that type of deep relaxation, numbness, or heaviness it is known as "Deqi" (pronounced duh chee) and is a sign the treatment is working properly.

Acupuncture treats infertility
While it is true acupuncture is used to treat muscles, bruises, and bodily injuries, it can also be used to effectively treat issues with female infertility. In addition, it can treat a wide array of other symptoms and issues such as labor pain, insomnia, labor duration, post-natal recuperation, post-partum depression, gynecological disorders, morning sickness, hot flashes, chronic pain, and autoimmune disorders. Most women who opt for acupuncture to help with pregnancy are using it jointly with traditional infertility treatments such as IVF.
Acupuncture has also been affective in the treatment of male infertility symptoms such as sperm motility and morphology.
The Domar Center offers acupuncture sessions for all conditions 7 days a week, as well as pre and post fertility procedures such as embryo transfer and intrauterine insemination sessions seven days a week. Research suggests that acupuncture treatments before and after embryo transfer in infertility patients may significantly improve pregnancy rates.
